Here you can find the answers to the most common questions about Trackting BIKE.

Can I choose to activate the Without Subscription service if I have already purchased Trackting Bike with a subscription?

No, these are different products. If you already have a Trackting BIKE with a subscription, it is not possible to switch to the Without Subscription option on the device you already own.

How much does Trackting BIKE cost?

There are two GPS tracker models: BIKE T8 and BIKE T9, which you can purchase by choosing between two options:

  • BIKE T8 with subscription: €99 + €29/year subscription.
  • BIKE T8 without subscription: €199.
  • BIKE T9 with subscription: €129 + €29/year subscription.
  • BIKE T9 without subscription: €229.

What does 30 days of service included for Trackting BIKE with subscription mean?

If you buy a Bike T8 or T9 device with subscription, you can use it free of charge for 30 days right from the start. At the end of this period, you will need to activate the subscription, which can be conveniently taken out through the app with a credit card.

Which bikes are compatible with Trackting BIKE?

BIKE T8 is compatible with any bicycle and e-bike equipped with standard bottle-cage holes.

BIKE T9 is ideal for the suspension forks of mountain bikes. You hide it inside the 1 1/8 inch fork steerer tube whose opening is at least 22 mm in diameter. At the upper part, the expander can reach a maximum size of 26 mm in diameter.

Please note: it is not compatible with dual-crown forks.

Can I install Trackting Bike on my bike myself?

Absolutely. Trackting BIKE was designed to be installed in just a few minutes, even by users with no technical experience. Take a look at the simple steps described here:

How long does the battery last? How do you recharge it?

The battery of Trackting BIKE lasts over 6 months with no theft attempts. However, each theft consumes energy, since the device connects to the network and activates the GPS to track. When the owner uses the vehicle, no tracking takes place, thus optimizing battery life. The battery status can be monitored through the app, which sends notifications when it needs recharging. It recharges easily by connecting the device to a USB charger with the included charging cable.

Note: Some power banks may not be compatible due to the device's low charging current, which they may not detect. In such cases, use a wall outlet or a different power bank.

How do alarm phone calls work? Are they free?

Yes, they're free. You can receive as many as you like as long as you don't answer (i.e. you end the call with the red button on your smartphone). And if you happen to answer, don't worry: you have 10 per month, which renew automatically.

To get the most out of the service, we recommend disabling any voicemail or auto-answer services, as services of this kind could automatically use up call credits. You'll find a guide on how to do this at this link.

How accurate is the GPS?

The device detects the position using as many as three systems (GPS, Glonass, Galileo) with a minimal margin of error, down to 5 m outdoors.

How do I activate the Alarm function?

Trackting BIKE is activated directly from the App via Bluetooth connection, so to activate/deactivate it you need to be near the bicycle.

Does it have to be connected to the smartphone's Bluetooth to work?

The device only needs a Bluetooth connection to be armed and disarmed. The App does NOT use Bluetooth in the background, so it in no way drains your smartphone when it's off.

If I don't renew the service on Trackting BIKE with subscription, what happens?

Only if you have purchased a Trackting BIKE device “with subscription” can you decide not to renew the service: the device will simply not work until you decide to reactivate the service.

Warning: if the service is not renewed within 18 months of the last expiry date, the internal SIM will be deactivated and it will no longer be possible to reactivate it.

How to activate or renew the service on Trackting BIKE with subscription?

To renew your subscription, you can purchase the service within the Trackting App:

  • Go to the Device Details tab
  • Scroll down to the Subscription section
  • Click on Renew your plan
  • If you haven't already done so, enter your billing details
  • Select the plan you prefer
  • Purchase it and pay by credit card

What are the differences with Apple Air Tag?

The main differences are these:

1) Theft Notifications: Trackting BIKE is an anti-theft device for bicycles that sends calls in the event of theft, whereas AirTag, designed as an anti-loss device for personal items, does not provide theft alerts.

2) Connectivity: BIKE features a built-in SIM that connects to the GSM network, working everywhere and even remotely, unlike AirTags, which rely on proximity to an iPhone for location tracking via the “Find My” network.

3) Satellite Location: BIKE uses an active GPS antenna with satellite systems (GPS, Galileo, Glonass) for real-time, detailed tracking, whereas AirTag locates its position through a nearby Apple device.

4) Detectability: AirTag can be easily detected by a thief through smartphone notifications, making it less effective in theft situations.

Can I use a SIM card other than the built-in one?

This is not possible, because the integrated SIM cannot be replaced.

Can I manage multiple devices from a single phone?

Yes. You can associate as many Trackting BIKE and Trackting SMART devices as you want with the Trackting app on your phone. This way you can monitor your vehicles at the same time: bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, car, motorhome, etc.

Who knows my vehicle's location? And what about privacy?

We pay close attention to privacy: your bike’s location is completely secure and encrypted, making it invisible to everyone, including us. In Parking mode, BIKE saves only the last position, without creating a history. In Alarm mode, it always records and shows the last position to make it easier to recover the bicycle in the event of theft.

Important: BIKE is not a tracker for fleets or vehicles, but an alarm system that activates tracking exclusively in the event of theft.

I have 2 phones, can I manage the device from both at the same time?

Yes, you just need to install the Trackting App on both, entering the same username and password to use it simultaneously on the two phones.

If there is no cellular signal (GSM) in my garage, is the vehicle protected?

Yes, BIKE will activate in the event of theft and will send you the location and notification immediately as soon as it manages to connect to the cellular network.

What happens if there is no satellite signal (GPS) coverage in my garage?

When parking in garages or underground cellars with thick ceilings, GPS coverage may not be available, making it impossible to view the bike's location on the map. However, your bike remains protected. In the event of theft, BIKE immediately triggers the alarm and sends a notification and a phone call. The updated location will be provided as soon as the Tracker on the bike picks up the GPS signal once it is brought outside.

Made in Italy?

Yes, 100%. To be precise, we produce and ship it from the Marche region, while product development takes place in Rome.

Can I recharge my Bike device with a power bank?

Yes, it's possible, however with some power banks the device might not charge, because the charging current is very low and some power banks may not detect the voltage and won't start charging. In these cases you'll need to use a wall outlet or a different power bank.

How can I pair the device with my smartphone?

It is essential to keep the Bluetooth connection active on your smartphone to automatically connect it to the Bike device via the app. This process eliminates the need to manually search for the Bike device, as recognition and pairing happen automatically.

What happens if I don't turn on my smartphone's Bluetooth?

Trackting BIKE can operate exclusively via the app installed on the smartphone through the Bluetooth connection. If the Bluetooth connection is disabled, the device won't be able to work; a message will appear in the app inviting you to enable it in order to use the protection and tracking service.

What happens if I turn off the smartphone's geolocation (GPS) — will BIKE still work?

No. For the app and the BIKE device to work correctly, it is essential that your smartphone's geolocation is always active; otherwise the device will not be able to connect with the phone and you will not be able to access the service. Furthermore, when the protection-from-app function is activated, the position is sampled by the mobile phone's GPS module.
