Activate Trackting SMART V2

Activating Trackting SMART V2 really only takes a few minutes. Installation is simple and quick

Inside the box, you'll find:

  • the black Tracker
  • the red Tag (already fitted with a battery and already paired with the Tracker, ready to use, you don't need to do anything)
  • the USB charging cable
  • the personal card with UID
    (your Tracker's unique code)
  • double-sided tape and cable ties for fastening
  • spare parts kit: USB port protective rubber cap, CR2032 battery

Good to know

Warning: this activation procedure refers to the Trackting SMART V2 model, the one preceding the one currently on sale in the shop.
Check that the label on the back of your device says SMART V2 and that the tag matches the type you see in the photo.

    Install the "TRACKTING" App

    Create your account in the app and activate it

    Launch the app, tap Sign up and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Your account will only be active after you confirm it via the link you'll receive by email.
    If you already own another Trackting SMART, you can use the app with the same credentials: in this case, just add the new device (under the Vehicles menu item).

    Pair the tracker

    Tap Add device and enter the (unique) UID code that you'll find printed on the back of your Tracker and on the personal Card provided inside the box.

    Put the tracker on charge

    • The USB charging port is on the side of the Tracker. Use only the supplied USB cable. You can connect it to your phone charger, a power bank or your PC.
    • Rest the Tracker down and insert the connector. If you feel resistance, don't force it and check that you're inserting it correctly.
    • Leave the tracker charging until the LED turns green

  • 05

    Run the first location fix

    To perform the first location fix follow these steps:

    • After charging Trackting SMART with its USB cable (see above, point 4), unplug the cable and wait for the LED to stop blinking.
    • Take the Tag (red keychain) out of the box: it's already paired with your Tracker, it's active and it already has a battery installed inside.
    • Go outside with your vehicle and, keeping the Tag with you, place the Tracker with the top side (opposite the label) facing up.
    • Now leave the Tracker on the stationary vehicle and move at least 30 metres away with the Tag.
    • Within 5 minutes, you'll get a notification on the App where you'll be able to see the position on the map.


    You've completed the procedure: Trackting SMART is now active!

    Register your phone number

    In case of theft, Trackting SMART will call you to alert you. It is therefore essential to enter and verify your phone number correctly.

    • Open the Trackting App, go to the Account section and enter your phone number, selecting the correct international dialing code (e.g. +39 Italy).
    • A new screen will open where you'll need to enter the 4-digit PIN code that will reach you via SMS within 5 minutes.
    • Save the following alarm numbers in your contacts right away: +1 830 444 4666; +39 0721 176 0423; +31 970 102 40666; +44 7418 372710 as "Trackting Alarm" and set them as favorite contacts so they ring even when you've turned on "Do Not Disturb" mode. It's an automated system: it can't receive phone calls. Don't call it, there's no operator!
    • When you receive the alarm call, you must reject it with the red button on your phone. If instead you were to answer or the voicemail kicked in, you would have a maximum of 5 calls per month (notifications are unlimited anyway).


    GOOD TO KNOW

    NOTE: With some phone carriers, voicemail kicks in automatically even if you reject the call or don't answer. In this case, one of your 5 monthly calls would be used up. To disable voicemail you can follow the guide here.

    Install it and use it correctly

    Now the Tracker is ready to be placed on your vehicle: move it while also taking the Tag with you (otherwise it will trigger the alarm).


    Place the Tracker in the vehicle using the supplied double-sided tape or with the dedicated Smart Clip bracket (an optional accessory sold separately), recommended for use on motorcycles.


    On cars, vans or campers you can also simply place it under the seat or in the glove compartment.


    The important thing is that the side with the label faces downward to allow proper GPS satellite reception.

    It must not be placed near heavy metal masses (e.g. the engine block) or close to heat sources.

    Trackting SMART is water-resistant, but it is advisable to install it so that it does not get immersed or is in any case protected from direct contact with liquids.

    Did you also purchase an additional tag?

    If you purchased an extra Tag separately, in addition to the one already included in the Trackting SMART box (already paired and ready to use), the new additional Tag must be paired with the Tracker. To do this, follow these simple instructions described here.
